A Book Review for Innocence Examined by Emily Tilton 1

This is the first book in the Victorian Correction Series by Emily Tilton.  Innocence Examined was released in January of 2015, and I purchased it immediately–well because I’m an avid Emily Fangirl and love everything she writes.  But, I hadn’t read it and stumbled across it a couple weeks ago.

Oh, My God!!  If you love Victorian, get this.  If you love humiliation, GET THIS.  If you love exhibitionism, for the LUVVA GAWD get this!! And Dear GOD,  if you enjoy multiples in sex– say, three men and four women, then RUN, DON’T WALK and effing one-click the shit out of this book!!

I routinely read this book before going to sleep–let’s just say this is not your normal fairy tale to put you to sleep. It tends to…excite…and spark the imagination…and shock the hell out of you.  I would randomly gasp, “Oh my fucking God.”  The husband would mutter, “What’s that about?”  To which I’d respond, “Well, they’re using the fuck pieces for oral–two women and two men–but the men are each explaining to the virgin who’s being forced to watch every single move they make and why and how it feels.”  Or the one night I said, “The women have to pledge their loyalty to…the mens’ cocks, and I quote ‘This lordly phallus is my master, and I will serve it.’”

My husband smiled mischievously and said, “I should hope that you’re taking this to heart.”  :::::eye-roll::::::

I’m telling you this is THE best book I’ve read in Victorian–and I love Victorian and have read many over the years.  This has some of THE best humiliation and exhibitionism (which I adore) that I’ve seen in a long time, if ever.

The plot line and character development are in depth, the setting and atmosphere clearly described, and the Victorian language and customs are impeccable.  As is expected in an Emily Tilton Production.

Because of Amazon’s rules about authors leaving reviews, I knew I’d not be successful in this endeavor, but am hoping that Emily Tilton will reap the benefits of some sales for this wonderful series through my blog post.

Oh, and did I say there are SEVEN books so far in this series??  Yeah, you’re all in for a treat–as am I:)

I hope you enjoy them!!

    Nice review, Megan:)

Just a note on the reviews thing. Amazon seems to (mostly) focus on reviews by authors who have a direct — or indirect — financial interest in promoting the book through leaving a glowing review for it. They also go after authors who make a habit of one-starring other authors in their same genre. Other than that, they’ve actually been clear that authors are welcome to leave reviews for books that don’t fall into those particular categories. Yes, they do sometimes take down reviews for what seems like no reason at all, but most of the time, authors are safe to review.

Authors reviewing other books is a vital part of the ecosystem (who better to review a book than a person who writes them), and it’s been that way for a very long time. I don’t *think* Amazon is seeking to destroy that ecosystem… quite.

Now, if the subject is KU though…
